Weekend reset: letting go 💫
and the next Saturday Soul on June 22!
This is Wake Up, your weekend dose of inspiration to help you reset and recharge.
Last week’s Saturday Soul was magic. Thank you all for being there. We have a double-soul in June, and the next one is two weeks away on June 22!
And a HUGE happy birthday shoutout to Ben Teller!! Ben has helped build all of Saturday Soul with me, and I love him dearly. Go give Ben some love today 🥳
And even better, let’s make Ben’s day. If you’re reading this right now, whether you know Ben or not, please open your phone and send him a happy birthday text, video, or a voice note! I removed him as a subscriber so he doesn’t know we’re doing this 😂 make this as ridiculous as possible please!! Get creative. His cell is 818-209-5314.

A soulful message for today
Today’s Soul Food is a powerful story about a snake, anger, and letting go from Anthony Hopkins.
One day, while a snake was crawling through a tool shed, it brushed against a saw that was on the ground and injured itself.
Thinking it was a threat, it snapped back and a bit the saw, severely wounding its mouth.
Blinded by anger from being hurt, it decided to enact revenge on the saw by suffocating it.
So it wrapped around the saw and started, squeezing with all its might. The poor snake kept cutting itself on the saw until it died.
If only it had ignored the cut and moved on, it would’ve stayed alive…
Maybe, when we react too viscerally with anger and condemn those who have wronged us, we end up hurting ourselves even more.
It’s sometimes better to ignore it, because otherwise the consequences can be irreversible.
Forgive the people who have wronged you, and don’t give them power over you.

Two quotes to take you higher
“To let go does not mean to get rid of. To let go means to let be. When we let be with compassion, things come and go on their own.”
“Seek first to understand — then to be understood”

A meditation for you
Take a long, slow, deep breath in…
What would you do today
if you weren’t trying to earn
other people’s love?
Exhale.
