“It’s time you realized that you have something in you more powerful and miraculous than the things that affect you and make you dance like a puppet.”

A soulful message for today
The meditation that changed my outlook on love
There’s a meditation practice called Loving-Kindness, or Mettā. It’s a simple practice of sitting in meditation and sending love to others.
For some reason, this meditation hits differently for me. When I meditate with a mantra, follow my breath, or practice other forms of meditation, the outcome is always mixed. Sometimes I feel great afterward, and sometimes I still feel groggy or down. And while meditation isn’t about how you feel when it’s over, it’s hard not to notice.
But every single time I do Loving-Kindness meditation, without fail, I come out feeling completely energized and rejuvenated. All the meaningless things I tightly cling to, thinking they matter so much, fall away. The things that make me ‘dance like a puppet’ lose their grip. And I feel whole.
So, I started to ask myself—why?
Why does Loving-Kindness meditation hit so different?
I think it’s because most of us go through life in a constant state of trying to get things—love, money, time, status. Whether through work, social life, dating, or just getting through the day, we’re always in pursuit. And this constant need subtly creates a feeling of lack inside us. If you believe you need to get these things to be happy or successful, it implies you don’t already have them.
But think about what happens when you give. When you donate money to someone in need, it means you have money to give. You can’t give what you don’t have.
So, when we sit and give love to others—whether to people we know, strangers, people we see every day, or even those we struggle with—we are subtly reminding ourselves that we have an abundance of love inside. The more we give, the more we realize how much love we truly hold within us.
I dare you to try it this week. Give love. Watch how it grows.

A meditation for you
Take a long, slow, deep breath into your heart…
Radiate love throughout your entire body. Send love to all the different parts of you.
Now send that love to someone that you love.
Love them fully.
Wish them peace, healing, happiness, ease, and kindness.
Now send that love to one of your teachers.
Someone who helped you along your journey.
Wish them love, peace, healing, happiness, ease, and kindness.
Now send that love to a stranger.
Someone you’ve seen on the street or at a coffee shop, but that you don’t know.
Wish them love, peace, healing, happiness, ease, and kindness.
Now send that love to someone you struggle with.
Wish them love, peace, healing, happiness, ease, and kindness.
Finally send that love to every single living being around the world.
Radiate that love all around you and all around the planet.
Wish them love, peace, healing, happiness, ease, and kindness.
Take another long, slow, deep breath into your heart…
And exhale ❤️

Come out next week and feel ALLLLL that love 🥳 on Saturday, October 5th.
